FAQs

Can I use a Genio Pizza Oven indoors?

No, these can never be used in enclosed areas. There needs to be plenty of ventilation around the oven, which will only happen outdoors. Follow the installation guide found in the owner’s manual and consult local code to be sure you’re installing your pizza oven correctly.

Can I install a Genio Pizza Oven under an outdoor pavilion?

You must first check all local building codes for restrictions. Extending the flue through a roof penetration is possible, if permitted by local laws. You will need to use an alternative flue pipe manufacturer for a through-the-roof installation. Your dealer can help you with this or redirect you to a chimney professional.

What kinds of fuel can I burn in a Genio Pizza Oven?

We recommend only using dry, split cordwood for fueling your cooking oven. Do not use treated woods, artificial (compressed wood) logs, construction lumber (2x4’s) or yard debris of unknown species. Properly dried hardwood fuel works much better, produces more heat, and can add additional flavors to the food depending on species selected.

How often should I clean my pizza oven?

Often! Before each use, brush out the ash from your previous fire. Before putting in each round of pizzas to bake, brush the stone floor and season with cornmeal to prevent sticking.

What can I make in my pizza oven?

Anything you would normally make in the oven. For meats and vegetables, we recommend using a tray or pan to contain the oil and grease.
